Experimental results are shown which demonstrate that MFGS is an effective grid snapping technique that speeds up low-resolution grid snapping while retaining the ability to snap to high-resolution grids.

Snapping of Fuzzy Objects Using the Multi-Resolution Fuzzy Grid Snapping Technique

An automatic snapping method that aligns fuzzy objects in a multi-resolution grid system in order to improve the efficiency of sketch-based CAD systems and results show that users can align identified objects to an appropriate resolution through MFGS by controlling the roughness of the drawing manner.

Snap-dragging

It is shown that snap-dragging compares favorably in power and ease of use with grid or constraint techniques, and provides translation, rotation, and scaling operations that take advantage of the precision placement capability.

A freehand interface for computer aided drawing systems based on the fuzzy spline curve identifier

Experimental results from the prototype show the effectiveness of the approach to a freehand CAD interface, which allows a user to input any of the seven kinds of primitive curves simply by drawing a curve and modifying it on a small scale.

A method for modeling freehand curves - The fuzzy spline interpolation

A fuzzy spline interpolation technique is proposed to give a fuzzy model of sampled freehand curves that involve vagueness (associated with roughness is drawing) in their positional information, providing a fuzzy inference approach to the geometric meaning of the drawer's original intention.

Fuzzy spline interpolation and its application to online freehand curve identification

The fuzzyspline curve identifier (FSCI), which performs online identification of free-hand curves based on the fuzzy spline interpolation technique, is proposed and works as a flexible and effective human interface for use with pen and tablet systems.

Fuzzy sets and fuzzy logic - theory and applications

Fuzzy Sets and Fuzzy Logic is a true magnum opus; it addresses practically every significant topic in the broad expanse of the union of fuzzy set theory and fuzzy logic.

HyperSnapping

    T. Masui
    Computer Science
  • 2001
This work introduces a new drawing technique called HyperSnapping, an extension to snapping operations, where users can control the behavior of snapping grids and the constraints between objects only by dragging objects, without explicitly changing drawing modes.

Drawing with constraints

It is described how non-constraint-based drawing tools can be augmented to specify constraints in addition to positions, which allows the user to explore configurations consistent with the constraints as the user drags the model.
