クリップ回路の代表的なものにダイオードの整流特性を利用したものがあるが, 従来の回路ではこれをビデオ回路のホワイトクリップとして使用すると, クリップ時のみならず使用規定レベルにおいて, クリップ回路による影響が微分利得および微分位相の劣化として現われ, そのまま使用することができない場合が多かった.そこで筆者らは直流増幅器とダイオードを組合せて理想ダイオードに近い特性を示す回路を考えて, これを用いてカラー特性を劣化させないホワイトクリップ回路を実現した.
