We explore the correspondence between the final state in e+e? annihilation and the small-x hadronic wavefunction in the transverse plane both in weakly coupled QCD and strongly coupled = 4 SYM. At strong coupling, the virtual and static photon produced in e+e? annihilation can be treated as a shock wave propagating in AdS space leaving spherical energy and charge distributions on the boundary. This is shown to be mathematically identical to the computation of energy and charge distributions in…

Collinear limit of the energy-energy correlator

The energy-energy-correlator (EEC) observable in $e^+e^-$ annihilation measures the energy deposited in two detectors as a function of the angle between the detectors. The collinear limit, where the

Universality in the Near-Side Energy-Energy Correlator.

We investigate the energy-energy correlator (EEC) of hadrons produced on the same side in e^{+}e^{-} annihilation or in leading jets in pp collisions. We observe a remarkable universality of the

Heavy ion collisions with transverse dynamics from evolving AdS geometries

Currently there exists no known way to construct the Stress-Energy Tensor (Tμν) of the produced medium in heavy ion collisions at strong coupling from purely theoretical grounds. In this paper, some

Geometrical Methods in Heavy Ion Collisions

Currently there exists no known way to construct the Stress-Energy tensor (Tμν) of the medium produced in heavy ion collisions at strong coupling from purely theoretical grounds. In this work, some

Soft evolution after a hard scattering process

The dynamical cascade of momentum, spin, charge, and other quantum numbers from an ultra-violet process into the infra-red is a fundamental concern for asymptotically free or conformal gauge field

Aspects of the UV/IR correspondence: energy broadening and string fluctuations

We show that a source which radiates in the vacuum of the strongly coupled $ \mathcal{N} = 4 $ SYM theory produces an energy distribution which, in the supergravity approximation, has the same

High-energy evolution to three loops

A bstractThe Balitsky-Kovchegov equation describes the high-energy growth of gauge theory scattering amplitudes as well as nonlinear saturation effects which stop it. We obtain the three-loop

The Edge of Jets and Subleading Non-Global Logs

A persistent and fascinating problem at the high energy colliders are jets. Often trying to observe physics underlying the hard interactions at colliders requires experimental cuts in phase space,

Detectors in weakly-coupled field theories

We initiate a study of asymptotic detector operators in weakly-coupled field theories. These operators describe measurements that can be performed at future null infinity in a collider experiment. In

Conformal spacelike-timelike correspondence in QCD

This paper is a study of a spacelike-timelike conformal correspondence in QCD. When the times at vertices are fixed in an A+ = 0 gauge calculation the distribution of gluons in a highly virtual decay

Jet evolution in the N = 4 SYM plasma at strong coupling

Within the framework of the AdS/CFT correspondence, we study the time evolution of an energetic -current propagating through a finite temperature, strongly coupled, = 4 SYM plasma and propose a

Conformal collider physics: energy and charge correlations

We study observables in a conformal field theory which are very closely related to the ones used to describe hadronic events at colliders. We focus on the correlation functions of the energies

Quantitative study of the transverse correlation of soft gluons in high energy QCD

We examine both analytically and numerically the validity of factorization for the double dipole scattering amplitude T(2) which appears on the right hand side of the BK-JIMWLK equation. We

Deep inelastic scattering at strong coupling from gauge/string duality: the saturation line

For gauge theories which admit a dual string description, we analyze deep inelastic scattering at strong 't Hooft coupling and high energy, in the vicinity of the unitarity limit. We discuss the

Deep Inelastic Scattering and Gauge/String Duality

We study deep inelastic scattering in gauge theories which have dual string descriptions. As a function of gN we find a transition. For small gN, the dominant operators in the OPE are the usual ones,

Eikonal approximation in AdS/CFT: resumming the gravitational loop expansion

We derive an eikonal approximation to high energy interactions in Anti-de Sitter spacetime, by generalizing a position space derivation of the eikonal amplitude in flat space. We are able to resum,

Saturation in deep inelastic scattering from the AdS/CFT correspondence

We analyze deep inelastic scattering at small Bjorken x, using the approximate conformal invariance of QCD at high energies. Hard Pomeron exchanges are resummed eikonally, restoring unitarity at

Hadronic spectra and light-front wave functions in holographic QCD.

Effective four dimensional Schrödinger equations for the bound states of massless quarks and gluons are derived which exactly reproduce the anti-de Sitter conformal field theory results and give a realistic description of the light-quark meson and baryon spectrum as well as the form factors for space-like Q2.
