A procedure for an all-plastic electrochemical cell comprising miniaturized planar indicator and reference electrodes is described. All electrodes are based on conducting polymers, are fully integrated, and contain no internal electrolyte. The reference microsensors were deposited via electrochemical polymerization from a water solution containing the monomer 3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT) or 1-methylpyrrole (MPy) and a biochemical buffer 3-(N-morpholino) propanesulfonic acid [MOPS], 2-(N…

Disposable planar reference electrode based on carbon nanotubes and polyacrylate membrane.

The novel potentiometric planar reference electrode shows low potential variability (calibration slopes inferior to 2 mV/dec) for a wide range of chemical species in a wide calibration range, redox pairs, changes in pH, and changes in ambient light.

Multi-analyte biochip (MAB) based on all-solid-state ion-selective electrodes (ASSISE) for physiological research.

The multi-analyte biochip conveys an advantage in size, versatility, and multiplexed analyte sensing capability, making it applicable to many confined monitoring situations, on Earth or in space.

All-Solid-State Reference Electrode with Heterogeneous Membrane.

It is shown that the described reference electrodes are relatively insensitive to the changes in the sample matrix, the concentrations of ions, the pH and the redox potential.

Monolithic capillary-based ion-selective electrodes.

The lower detection limits of Ag+- and Ca2+-ISEs are comparable to the best ones obtained earlier with optimized inner solutions and a monolithic Na+-selective ISE has been obtained exhibiting a lower detection limit of 3 x 10(-8) M Na+.

All-solid-state reference electrodes based on conducting polymers.

A novel construction of solution free (pseudo)reference electrodes, compatible with all-solid-state potentiometric indicator electrodes, has been proposed and recorded potentials have been found to be practically independent of electrolyte concentration.

Junction-less reference electrode for potentiometric measurements obtained by buffering pH in a conducting polymer matrix.

A reference electrode for potentiometric measurements based on conducting polymers (CP) doped with pH buffering ligands is described, which may serve in frontier applications of sensors because the electrode is junction-less and may easily be miniaturized and maintained.

Metal/polypyrrole quasi-reference electrode for voltammetry in nonaqueous and aqueous solutions.

Metal (Pt, stainless steel) coated with partially oxidized polypyrrole with good stability over a period of 1 day and relatively reproducible potential in a given solvent and supporting electrolyte is presented.
