Agricultural and Food Sciences
The changes of moisture contents, vigour index, enzymes activities, contents and components of soluble sugars, protein contents and SDS-PAGE protein bands before and after maturation of Castanea mollissima seeds showed that the kinds of soluble proteins in cotyledons and embryonic axes were different.

Results showed that photorespiration of wheat and bean could not occur at 2 % O2, and the widely observed phenomenon of Rd being lower than Rn can be attributed to refixation, rather than light inhibition.
