キンモンホソガの性フェロモンを室内と野外条件下で生物検定する方法を確立し,それを用いて性フェロモンの存在を確認した。さらに,性フェロモン成分の単離をフロリシルカラムクロマトグラフィー,硝酸銀-シリカゲルカラムクロマトグラフィー,ガスクロマトグラフィーにより行った。その結果,キンモンホソガの性フェロモンは2成分から成ることが明らかとなった。第1成分は10-テトラデセニルアセタートで,第2の成分は二重結合位置の一つが10位であるテトラデカジエニルアセタートであると推定された。
