ストックの開花に及ぼす夜間照射用各種光源の種類と光量の影響について調査した.ストックの開花は,遠赤色電球形蛍光ランプと白熱電球を照射した場合に促進された.その効果は,遠赤色電球形蛍光ランプの照射光量が強くなるほど大きくなった.これらの光源による開花促進効果が大きい時期は,夏まき栽培が行われる開花期の日長が短く,温度の低い時期であった.遠赤色電球形蛍光ランプは,白熱電球と比べ電気代が安く,電球の寿命が長いという利点があり,ほ場で設置しやすく,普及の可能性が非常に高い資材であると考えられた.
