ปัญหาการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษในประเทศไทย และข้อเสนอแนะด้านยุทธศาสตร์การพัฒนาการเรียนการสอนภาษาอังกฤษ ปี 2564 – 2568
ภาษาองกฤษ ถอไดวาเปนภาษาตางประเทศทนยมใชกนอยางแพรหลาย เปนภาษากลางทใชสอความหมายไปเกอบทวโลก ปจจบน มคนทวโลกใชภาษาองกฤษเปนหลกในการสอสารมากกวา 2,000 ลานคน หรอ 1 ใน 3 ของประชากรของโลก ดงนน จงจำเปนอยางยงทจะสงเสรมใหประชากรไทยไดเรยนรภาษาองกฤษในระดบทจะสอสารได เปนเครองมอในการแสวงหาความร และการประกอบอาชพ ตลอดจนการเจรจาตอรองสำหรบการแขงขนดานเศรษฐกจและสงคมในเวทสากล อยางไรกตาม ในชวงทผานมา ประเทศไทยไดมความพยายามทจะเพมขดความสามารถในการใชภาษาองกฤษ  แตความสามารถในการใชภาษาองกฤษกยงไมเกดผลสมฤทธเทาทควร ดงจะเหนไดจากผลการประเมนดานผลสมฤทธทางการเรยนวชาภาษาองกฤษ ในหลายๆ ปการศกษา ทผานมาของนกเรยนชนประถมศกษาปท 6 มธยมศกษาปท 3 และมธยมศกษาปท 6 ไมวาจะเปนผลสอบ O-NET หรอ GAT พบวามคะแนนผลสมฤทธอยในระดบตำ และเมอเปรยบเทยบกบวชาอนๆ พบวา คะแนนผลสมฤทธทางการเรยนวชาภาษาองกฤษแทบจะอยในระดบตำสด ปญหาการเรยนการสอนภาษาองกฤษในประเทศไทย สามารถแบงออกเปนหมวดหมไดแก ปญหาดานการเรยนการสอน ปญหาดานครผสอน (ครไทยและครตางชาต) ปญหาดานการบรหารจดการภายในหมวดภาษาตางประเทศ ปญหาดานสภาพแวดลอมในการเรยนภาษาองกฤษ ปญหาดานเกณฑในการประเมนทกษะการใชภาษาองกฤษ และปญหาดานหลกสตร ทงน ไดมการเสนอแนะยทธศาสตร 4 ยทธศาสตร เพอการพฒนาการเรยนการสอนภาษาองกฤษป 2564 – 2568 ในทายบทความน
