A system for assembling the test materials that are used in evaluating speech perception ability by combined use of cochlear implant and lip‐reading has been developed and a database of Japanese basic vocabulary furnished with specifications regarding their auditory, visual, temporal, and linguistic components is utilized.

PARALLAX DISTRIBUTION AND VISUAL COMFORT ON STEREOSCOPIC HDTV

The analysis results indicate that the features of parallax distribution in a frame are strongly related to visual comfort and for greater comfort when viewing stereoscopic images, the upper part of the screen should be located further away from the viewer with lessParallax dispersion, and the entire image should be positioned at the back.
