@article{Wang2013SubareaSA, title={Subarea simulation and distributed computing of direct laser fabrication}, author={Fu Yu Wang and Weijun Liu and Yuhui Zhao and Youbin Lai and Wen Chao Han}, journal={The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology}, year={2013}, volume={71}, pages={667 - 673}, url={https://api.semanticscholar.org/CorpusID:109095141} }
The novel approach shows that a large-scale workpiece can be divided into several subareas for simulation such that finite element computation can be distributed to a certain number of computers working simultaneously.
