The Khalfani anticline is located in the Coastal Fars (Zagros, adjacent Persian Gulf). This anticline with Northwest-Southeast trend is a fault bend fold. In the study area, the Khalfani anticline has increased elevation from West to East with three distinct humps. The major faults in the study area are the Hendurabi and the Razak sinistral strike slip faults. Because analysis of fold and their folding styles in different parts system is important, the analysis of folding style elements…

The Kuh-e Siah anticline is located in the Sarvestan area of the Fars province (186 km to Persian Gulf) and Interior Fars sub basin. This anticline is a fault bend fold and is located in the

Folding pattern in the Fars province, Zagros folded belt: case study on the Karbasi and Khaftar anticlines, interior Fars, Iran

Abstract. The anticlines in Fars region, which are located in Zagros fold-thrust belt, are valuable because they possess several hydrocarbons and this area is easily recognized by the NW–SE trending

Structural style and hydrocarbon trap of Karbasi anticline, in the Interior Fars region, Zagros, Iran

Abstract. Karbasi anticline between west-northwest parts of Jahrom town is located in northwest 40 km distance of Aghar gas anticline in interior Fars region. This anticline has asymmetric structure

The study area is located in the Zagros Simply Folded Belt of Iran and in the interior Fars sub-basin (175 km from Persian Gulf). The Zagros fold-thrust belt is home to one of the largest

Structural styles in the Zagros Simple Folded Zone, Iran

Arabia–Eurasia convergence is achieved in the NW Zagros by a combination of shortening on NW–SE-trending folds and thrusts, mainly in the Simple Folded Zone, and by right-lateral strike-slip on the

Fold Development in Zagros Simply Folded Belt, Southwest Iran

In the simply folded belt of the Zagros Mountains, a sequence of Precambrian to Pliocene shelf sediments about 12 km thick has undergone folding from Miocene to recent time. Much of the section

The Zagros folded belt (Fars, Iran): constraints from topography and critical wedge modelling

SUMMARY The Late Miocene tectonics of the Zagros folded belt (Fars province) has for long been related solely to folding of the cover controlled by a ductile decollement between basement and the
