The intermediate fluid vaporizer (IFV) is a typical vaporizer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which in general consists of three shell-and-tube heat exchangers (an evaporator, a condenser, and a thermolator). LNG is heated by seawater and the intermediate fluid in these heat exchangers. A one-dimensional heat transfer model for IFV is established in this paper in order to investigate the influences of structure and operation parameters on the heat transfer performance. In the rated condition…

Heat Transfer Analysis and Operation Optimization of an Intermediate Fluid Vaporizer

An intermediate fluid vaporizer (IFV) is a typical vaporizer of liquefied natural gas (LNG), which is used in a large number of LNG terminals. Since it requires a large supply of seawater during its

Review of the LNG intermediate fluid vaporizer and its heat transfer characteristics

The intermediate fluid vaporizer (IFV), different from other liquefied natural gas (LNG) vaporizers, has many advantages and has shown a great potential for future applications. In this present

Study on the Heat Transfer Characteristics of an Ambient Air Vaporizer with Multi-Component Fluids

China’s LNG import volume in 2021 reached 121.356 million tons, which makes China the largest importer in the world. The ambient air vaporizer (AAV) for LNG vaporization is an ideal selection for

Systematic review of mixing technology for recycling waste tailings as cemented paste backfill in mines in China

The development of industry is inseparable from the support of mining. However, mining processes consume a large amount of energy, and increased tailing emissions can have a significant impact on the

Design of an Intermediate Fluid Vaporizer for Liquefied Natural Gas

The intermediate fluid vaporizer (IFV) owns various advantages over the other types of liquefied natural gas (LNG) vaporizers. Research findings related to the design of an IFV, including the

Feasibility of Intermediate Fluid Vaporizer with Spiral Wound Tubes

A novel intermediate fluid vaporization (IFV) technology for LNG re-gasification process with spiral-wound heat exchanging tubes is proposed. The new IFV project combines the advantage of running the
