The basic purpose of the present paper is to develop lengthwise fracture analyses of the functionally graded Symmetric Split Beam (SSB) configurations which exhibit non-linear mechanical behavior of the material. The SSB is loaded in pure bending. A lengthwise crack is located symmetrically with respect to the beam's mid-span. The crack is located arbitrary along the width of the beam's cross-section. Thus, the crack arms have different widths. The material is linearly and functionally graded…

This paper presents investigation of delamination fracture behavior of multilayered non-linear elastic beam configurations by using the Ramberg-Osgood stress-strain relation. It is assumed that each

Triple longitudinal fracture of inhomogeneous beam under four-point bending

The present paper is devoted to fracture analysis of an inhomogeneous non-linear elastic beam configuration with three parallel longitudinal cracks. The material is continuously inhomogeneous along

Influence of material inhomogeneity and non-linear mechanical behavior of the material on delamination in multilayered beams

The delamination fracture in four-point bending beams made of adhesively bonded lengthwise vertical layers is studied assuming that each layer exhibits smooth material inhomogeneity along the width

Longitudinal fracture of inhomogeneous beams with material non-linearity: An analytical investigation

This paper describes an analytical approach for analysing of longitudinal fracture in beam structures which exhibit smooth material inhomogeneity along the height and length. A solution to the strain

Fracture analysis of a nonhomogeneous beam with two concentric cylindrical longitudinal cracks

Purpose This paper is concerned with analysis of the time-dependent strain energy release rate for a longitudinal crack in a beam subjected to linear relaxation. A viscoelastic model with an

Inhomogeneous Beams with Different Behaviour in Tension and Compression: A Longitudinal Crack Study

An approach for investigating the strain energy release rate for longitudinal cracks in nonlinear elastic inhomogeneous beams is derived. The Ramberg-Osgood stress-strain relation is applied to

Longitudinal fracture analysis of inhomogeneous beams with continuously changing radius of cross-section along the beam length

This paper focusses on deriving a general solution to the strain energy release rate for a longitudinal circular cylindrical crack in non-linear elastic inhomogeneous beams with circular

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to perform a theoretical analysis of delamination fracture behaviour of the Crack Lap Shear layered beam configuration taking into account the material

Equivalent Homogeneous Variable Depth Beams for Cracked FGM Beams; Compliance Approach

We explore the compliance approach for KI evaluation of a cracked three point beam (TPB) of functionally graded material (FGM). We suggest an equivalent beam of variable height for cracked FGM beams

A Bonded Plate Having Orthotropic Inclusion in the Adhesive Layer under In-Plane Shear Loading

In the present paper, the shear buckling analyses of adhesively bonded plates including an orthotropic material were performed. The adherends were selected as isotropic homogenous materials and a

Semi‐analytical analysis for multi‐directional functionally graded plates: 3‐D elasticity solutions

Semi‐analytical 3‐D elasticity solutions are presented for orthotropic multi‐directional functionally graded plates using the differential quadrature method (DQM) based on the state‐space formalism.
