The associations between celebrity, parental attachment, and adult adjustment were examined among 74 famous, former young performers in television and film and indicated that the quality of the parent-child relationship moderated the effects of celebrity on adult adjustment.

Attachment to parents and psychological well-being: an examination of young adult college students in intact families and stepfamilies.

It was found that attachment (operationalized as maternal and paternal care) partially mediated the relationship between family type (intact, biological family vs. stepfamily) and psychological well-being and the results confirmed that attachment was a significant predictor of well- being.
