An investigation of the in vitro cytotoxic effect of calcium phosphate cement based on alpha-tricalcium phosphate immersed for different lengths of time in simulated body fluid (SBF), based on the ISO-10993 "Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices" standard revealed that the material's cytotoxicity decreased the longer the cement was immersed in SBF.

Preparation of an Injectable Macroporous α-TCP Cement

This study suggests that the calcium phosphate cement samples foamed with Lutensol may be further evaluated as suitable materials for bone filling and showed greater foamability than solutions with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS).

Self-Setting Calcium Orthophosphate Formulations: Cements, Concretes, Pastes and Putties

An insight into the self-setting calcium orthophosphate formulations, as excellent biomaterials suitable for both dental and bone grafting applications, has been provided.

Calcium Orthophosphate Cements and Concretes

An insight into calcium orthophosphate cements and concretes, as excellent biomaterials suitable for both dental and bone grafting application, has been provided.

Proliferation of human bone marrow stem cells cultured on alfa-tricalcium phosphate cement and titanium discs

Both biomaterials cultured on a-TCP and titanium discs were osteoconductive but not osteoinductive, and did not affect the initial stages of osteogenesis.

Alpha-tricalcium phosphate cement in the reconstruction of bone defects in rats.

The α-TCP implant is effective alternative bone substitutes for the treatment of critical size bone defects and Scanning electron microscopy revealed direct contact between the α- TCP+AB implant and the bone tissue at 120 days.

Soft tissue necrosis following using calcium phosphate cement in calcaneal bone cyst: case report

A patient who had soft tissue necrosis around lateral malleolar region, following using percutaneous calcium phosphate cement as a filler bone substitute in calcenous bone cyst is represented.

The effect of oligo(trimethylene carbonate) addition on the stiffness of acrylic bone cement

The results presented herein are promising in terms of approaching clinically applicable bone cements with a lower stiffness, and further evaluation of other relevant properties, such as injectability and in vivo biocompatibility, remains to be done.

Si-TCP synthesized from "Mg-free" reagents employed as calcium phosphate cement

The influence of silicon doping on calcium phosphate cement were explored in this work. α-TCP and Si-α-TCP were prepared by solid state reaction employing "Mg-free" CaHPO4, CaCO3 and CaSiO3 as

Self-Setting Calcium Orthophosphate Formulations

An insight into the self-setting calcium orthophosphate formulations, as excellent bioceramics suitable for both dental and bone grafting applications, has been provided.
