The time harmonic sound field for the center frequency is suitable to optimize broadband arrays in respect to its geometrical parameters (aperture, middle distance, curvature) and to optimize the controlling mode. The time harmonic sound field predicts the extension and possible splitting of the main structure, location and extension of the focus, the incident angle and the existence of grating lobes. Keywords-ultrasonic phased arrays; calculation of time harmonic and transient field; plane and…

Development and Validation of Independent Dual-Focusing Transducer for Internal Inspection of Tubes

An independent dual-focusing (IDF) array ultrasonic transducer composed of 64 prefocused elements is developed and validated and it is demonstrated that forming regulable and focused beam in 3-D cylindrical space is feasible using the IDF array.

For ultrasonic problems, an optimized approximation method based on a separation approach in connection with integral transform methods and a point source synthesis, was developed to calculate the

Three‐dimensional waves in layered media with nonparallel and curved interfaces: A theoretical approach

A calculation method is presented for transducer‐generated three‐dimensional, transient wave fields in layered media with curved interfaces by using a separation approach in combination with integral
