- S. GrahamM. Jahanifar N. Rajpoot
- 25 August 2021
Medicine, Computer Science
2021 IEEE/CVF International Conference on…
A multi-stage annotation pipeline is proposed to enable the collection of large-scale datasets for histology image analysis, with pathologist-in-the-loop refinement steps, and generates the largest known nuclear instance segmentation and classification dataset, containing nearly half a million labelled nuclei in H&E stained colon tissue.
Inhibition of CXCR4-Mediated Breast Cancer Metastasis: A Potential Role for Heparinoids?
Clinically relevant concentrations of tinzaparin inhibit the interaction between CXCL12 and CXCR4 and may be useful to prevent chemokine-driven breast cancer metastasis.
Genetic modification of primary human B cells to model high-grade lymphoma
- Rebecca CaeserM. Di Re D. Hodson
- 4 October 2019
Medicine, Biology
A co-culture system that enables ex vivo expansion, viral transduction and transformation of primary human germinal center B cells and a scalable platform to test putative cancer genes and to create mutation-directed, bespoke lymphoma models is presented.
AI based pre-screening of large bowel cancer via weakly supervised learning of colorectal biopsy histology images
- M. BilalY. Tsang N. Rajpoot
- 28 February 2022
Medicine, Computer Science
An AI-based pre-screening tool capable of identifying normal and neoplastic colon biopsies and analysis of saliency maps confirms the representation of disease heterogeneity in model predictions and their association with relevant pathological features.
Vascular invasion in hepatocellular carcinoma: is there a correlation with MRI?
- N. GriffinH. Addley D. Lomas
- 1 June 2012
Medicine
It is suggested that no single MRI feature accurately predicts the presence of vascular invasion in HCCs, although a trend was seen with the presenceof washout in the portal venous phase post gadolinium.
Semantic annotation for computational pathology: multidisciplinary experience and best practice recommendations
- N. WahabI. Miligy F. Minhas
- 25 June 2021
Computer Science, Medicine
The Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research
The experience and best practices acquired during the execution of a large‐scale annotation exercise involving a multidisciplinary team of pathologists, ML experts, and researchers as part of the Pathology image data Lake for Analytics, Knowledge and Education (PathLAKE) consortium are presented.
Tamoxifen for the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms: A Phase II clinical trial and exploratory analysis
- Zijian FangGiuditta Corbizi Fattori S. Méndez-Ferrer
- 25 November 2023
Medicine
TAMARIN Phase-II, multicenter, single-arm clinical trial assessed tamoxifen’s safety and activity in patients with stable MPNs, no prior thrombotic events and mutated JAK2V617F, CALRins5 or CALRdel52 peripheral blood allele burden (EudraCT 2015-005497-38).
Screening of normal endoscopic large bowel biopsies with artificial intelligence: a retrospective study
- S. GrahamF. Minhas N. Rajpoot
- 17 October 2022
Medicine, Computer Science
An interpretable AI model was developed to screen abnormal cases for review by pathologists showing its potential in optimising increasingly scarce pathologist resources and for achieving faster time to diagnosis.
The role and contribution of clonality studies in the diagnosis of lymphoproliferative disorders
- A. PatersonHongxiang LiuH. Eldaly
- 1 June 2019
Medicine
To explore the frequency, context and diagnostic impact of B‐ and T‐lymphocyte clonality assay use in the assessment of possible lymphoproliferative disorders at a central haematopathology…
Rapid parallel acquisition of somatic mutations after NPM1 in acute myeloid leukaemia evolution
- C. GroveN. Bolli G. Vassiliou
- 1 March 2017
Biology, Medicine
The genetic events driving rapid progression of a case of NPM1 mutant chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) to full-blown AML are described and exome sequencing of bone marrow DNA at CMML diagnosis, AML diagnosis and first complete remission is performed.
