- H. BurridgeR. Bhagat P. Linden
- 1 March 2021
Environmental Science, Engineering
This report reviews knowledge of the transmission of COVID-19 indoors, examines the evidence for mitigating measures, and considers the implications for wintertime with a focus on ventilation.
Sobol' indices for problems defined in non-rectangular domains
- S. KucherenkoO. KlymenkoN. Shah
- 17 May 2016
Engineering, Mathematics
Two numerical methods, namely the quadrature integration method which may be very efficient for problems of low and medium dimensionality and the MC/QMC estimators based on the acceptance-rejection sampling method are proposed for the numerical estimation of Sobol sensitivity indices.
A comparative electrochemical study of diffusion in room temperature ionic liquid solvents versus acetonitrile.
- R. G. EvansO. KlymenkoPaul D. PriceS. DaviesC. HardacreR. Compton
- 11 March 2005
Chemistry
The variation of diffusion coefficient with temperature was found to occur in an Arrhenius-type manner for all combinations of solute and solvent, and for a given ionic liquid, the diffusional activation energies of each species were not only closely equivalent to each other, but also to the RTIL's activation energy of viscous flow.

- 25 September 2003
Chemistry
The electrochemical reduction of oxygen in two different room-temperature ionic liquids, 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)imide ([EMIM][N(Tf)2]) and hexyltriethylammonium…
Electroreduction of Oxygen in a Series of Room Temperature Ionic Liquids Composed of Group 15-Centered Cations and Anions
- R. G. EvansO. KlymenkoSahar A. SaddoughiC. HardacreR. Compton
- 10 June 2004
Chemistry
The electrochemical reduction of oxygen is reported in four room temperature ionic liquids (RTILs) based on quaternary alkyl -onium cations and heavily fluorinated anions in which the central atom is…
Modelling homogeneous kinetics in the double channel electrode
- Mary ThompsonO. KlymenkoR. Compton
- 1 March 2005
Engineering, Chemistry
Concentration profiles of electrochemically generated species are simulated in a channel flow cell containing two electrodes, where a species produced upstream at the generator electrode is detected…
Long-term adjustment of hepatic lipid metabolism after chronic stress and the role of FGF21.
- M. DilleA. Nikolić B. Knebel
- 5 October 2021
Medicine, Biology
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta - Molecular Basis…
It is shown that stress favors fatty liver disease and FGF21 protected against hepatic lipid accumulation after previous chronic stress loading by restoring physiological function, modulated gene expression via DNA-modifying enzymes, and maintained energy metabolism.
Optimal Design of Distributed Energy Systems Considering the Impacts on Electrical Power Networks
- Ishanki A. De MelO. KlymenkoM. Short
- 23 September 2021
Engineering, Environmental Science
Distributed energy systems (DES) have the potential to minimise costly network upgrades while increasing the proportion of renewable energy generation in the electrical grid, when properly designed.…
