[はじめに] 高感度カメラを用いて水中での放射性物質の発光を計測解析することにより、広範囲 の線量分布測定が可能となる。従来の放射線計測法では計測範囲が狭く計測を繰り返す必要があ った。そこでチェレンコフ光の測定によって線量分布を一挙に計測する手法の確立を目指した。 [水中実験] Fig.1 に実験体系を示す。カメラは AVT 社製 STINGRAY-F146C を用いた。撮影は水 深 4.7mのプールの底で行い、電離箱型の放射線検出器を線源に近接させ、カメラは 2.5m以上離 れた位置に設置した。図の体系で、カメラ画像中のチェレンコフ光と同じ位置での線量分布を計 測しそれぞれの比較を試みた結果を Fig.2に示す。放射線検出器により計測した平均線量率の変化 と、カメラ画像から解析したチェレンコフ光輝度の、放射線源との距離に対する減衰曲線の傾き は、ほぼ一致している事が分かる。また、画像中のチェレンコフ光強度の和と線源強度の間にも 良好な比例関係が得られた。
