tRNA-derived fragments (tRFs), a novel type of non-coding RNA derived from tRNAs, play an important part in governing gene expressions at a post-transcriptional level. To date, the regulatory mechanism of tRFs governing fat deposition and adipogenesis is completely unknown. In this study, high fat diet was employed to induce an obese rat model, and tRFs transcriptome sequencing was conducted to identify differentially expressed tRFs that response to obesity. We found out that tRFGluTTC, which…

Gly-tRF enhances LCSC-like properties and promotes HCC cells migration by targeting NDFIP2
TLDR
Gly-tRF enhances LCSC-like cell properties and promotes EMT by targeting NDFIP2 and activating the AKT signalling pathway and may lead to a potential therapeutic target for HCC.
miR-214-5p Regulating Differentiation of Intramuscular Preadipocytes in Goats via Targeting KLF12
TLDR
The research results showed that the expression level of miR-214-5p peaked at 48 h after the goat intramuscular preadipocytes were induced for adipogenesis, and confirmed that Krüppel-like factor 12 (KLF12) was the target gene of miP-214/5p.

TLDR
It is argued that sequencing studies have demonstrated that miRNAs are just the tip of the iceberg for sRNAs, and the authors are likely standing at the precipice of immense discovery for novel sRNA-mediated gene regulation in cardiometabolic diseases.
tRFTars: predicting the targets of tRNA-derived fragments
TLDR
Background tRNA-derived fragments are 14–40-nucleotide-long, small non-coding RNAs derived from specific tRNA cleavage events with key regulatory functions in many biological processes and tRF prediction models are constructed, providing the first tool to predict targets of tRFs in humans with a user-friendly interface.
