p-adic Cellular Neural Networks

  title={p-adic Cellular Neural Networks},
  author={B. A. Zambrano-Luna and W. A. Z'uniga-Galindo},
In this article we introduce the p-adic cellular neural networks which are mathematical generalizations of the classical cellular neural networks (CNNs) introduced by Chua and Yang. The new networks have infinitely many cells which are organized hierarchically in rooted trees, and also they have infinitely many hidden layers. Intuitively, the p-adic CNNs occur as limits of large hierarchical discrete CNNs. More precisely, the new networks can be very well approximated by hierarchical discrete… Expand

Cellular neural networks: applications
Examples of cellular neural networks which can be designed to recognize the key features of Chinese characters are presented and their applications to such areas as image processing and pattern recognition are demonstrated. Expand
Cellular neural networks: theory
A novel class of information-processing systems called cellular neural networks is proposed. Like neural networks, they are large-scale nonlinear analog circuits that process signals in real time.Expand
Turing Patterns in CNNs-Part I : Once Over Lightly

Turing Patterns in CNNs-Part 11: Equations and Behaviors
The general state equations describing two-grid cou- pled CNNs based on the reduced Chua's circuit are derived, and the analysis of 'hring pattern formation is approached from a specific point ofExpand
p-adic numbers encode complex networks
The p-adic ultrametric enables the ER model to simulate multiple big components from the observations of genetic interaction networks, social networks, and epidemics, which have important implications in intervention of spreading processes. Expand
p-adic models of ultrametric diffusion constrained by hierarchical energy landscapes
We demonstrate that the p-adic analysis is a natural basis for the construction of a wide variety of models of ultrametric diffusion constrained by hierarchical energy landscapes. A generalExpand

Turing Patterns in CNNs-Part 111: Computer Simulation Results
It is shown through examples that the four inequalities known as the 'king instability conditions are only necessary but not sufficient for patterns to exist, suggesting the intriguing possibility of producing high-purity high-tech materials, such as crystals, which was not possible with current technology.
