Zibethacarus , n, gen., is proposed for Dermacarus ondatrae Rupes & Whitaker on the basis of adult morphology. Described as new from hypopi are Dermacarus anisomysi off Anisomys imitator and D. lorentzimysi off Lorentzimys nouhuysi , from East New Guinea, and D. tamiasciuri off Tamiasciurus hudsonicus , from Michigan, U.S.A.
