We develop a general Ginzburg-Landau theory that describes the effect of a Zeeman field on the superconducting order parameter in two-dimensional triplet superconductors. Starting from Ginzburg-Landau theories that describe fully gapped time-reversal symmetric triplet superconductors, we show that the Zeeman field has dramatic effects on the topological properties of the superconductors. In particular, in the vicinity of a critical chemical potential separating two topologically distinct phases…

Flat-band Majorana bound states in topological Josephson junctions

Nodal topological superconductors characterized by px-wave pairing symmetry host flat-band Majorana bound states causing drastic anomalies in low-energy electromagnetic responses. Nevertheless, the

Strong anomalous proximity effect from spin-singlet superconductors

The proximity effect from a spin-triplet px-wave superconductor to a dirty normal-metal has been shown to result in various unusual electromagnetic properties, reflecting a cooperative relation

Control of edge currents at a ferromagnet–triplet superconductor interface by multiple helical modes

We study the spin and charge currents flowing at the interface of an itinerant ferromagnet with a topological spin-triplet superconductor having a different number of time-reversal-invariant Majorana

Spin-polarized currents and impurity-induced bound states in mesoscopic s-wave superconducting loops

The spin current is investigated in mesoscopic s-wave superconducting loops with spin-orbit interaction by solving the Bogoliubov-de Gennes equations self-consistently. Due to the breaking of

Magnetoelectrically tunable Andreev bound state spectra and spin polarization in p -wave Josephson junctions

We demonstrate how the boundary-driven reconstruction of the superconducting order parameter can be employed to manipulate the zero-energy Majorana bound states (MBSs) occurring in a topological

Nodal Andreev spectra in multi-Majorana three-terminal Josephson junctions

We investigate the Andreev-bound-state (ABS) spectra of three-terminal Josephson junctions which consist of 1D topological superconductors (TSCs) harboring multiple zero-energy edge Majorana bound

Topological superconductivity in the extended Kitaev-Heisenberg model

We study superconducting pairing in the doped Kitaev-Heisenberg model by taking into account the recently proposed symmetric off-diagonal exchange Γ. By performing a mean-field analysis, we classif

Tunable topological states hosted by unconventional superconductors with adatoms

Chains of magnetic atoms, placed on the surface of s-wave superconductors, have been established as a laboratory for the study of Majorana bound states. In such systems, the breaking of time reversal

Thesis

This review is the report of a single experimental protocol on the nature, structure and mechanical strength of 136 bone samples from the vertebral body of 9 subjects, which combined mechanical testing with density measurements, a study of some microarchitectural parameters and a biochemical analysis of bone collagen.
