The pharmacokinetics and absolute oral bioavailability of zaleplon were assessed to evaluate the extent of presystemic metabolism of this new nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic agent. A partially randomized, single-dose, four-period crossover study was conducted in 23 healthy subjects.
