The Social Force Model is one of the well-known approaches that could successfully simulate pedestrian’s movement realistically. However, it is not suitable to simulate a complex pedestrian movement. Hence, this research proposed a novel model which improved the Social Force Model for simulating high density crowd such as Tawaf. Tawaf is an Islamic ritual, which requires agents to encircle the Kaabah. This ritual has been complex yet unique, due to its capacity, density, and various demographic…

Pedestrian Self-organization Modeling with Behavioral Variables at a Signalized Intersection

The Voronoi algorithm has been used as the most up-to-date method to increase the accuracy in calculating the density and the result shows the normalized root mean square error in density is 0.18, indicating the model's high accuracy.

OpenGL 3D crowd evacuation simulation at universiti tun hussein onn malaysia (UTHM) hostel

This paper investigates the best route path for agents to act in avoiding the fire hazards with different designated type of stairs in shop lots that were converted to hostel dormitory for students to avoid being exposed to fire hazards.

Spatial planning for Effective Evacuation using Floor Field Cellular Automata Model

The use of static floor field model is discussed which is one of the cellular automata approaches to model pedestrian movement during the evacuation process and a set of objects and the generated statistics are used to find a feasible layout that reduce the risk of pedestrian harm.

The social force model approach is introduced in which the social force between pedestrians presented in the crowd is calculated which helps in recognizing the behavior of the crowd in an abnormal situation.

A Review on Recognition of Motion Pattern from Crowd Scene

The background awareness of crowded situations and the elements that are offered are discussed, existing models, popular algorithms with different environment scenarios to find motion pattern from crowded scenes, and several datasets used for the crowd analysis are discussed.
