The Social Force Model is one of the well-known approaches that could successfully simulate pedestrian’s movement realistically. However, it is not suitable to simulate a complex pedestrian movement. Hence, this research proposed a novel model which improved the Social Force Model for simulating high density crowd such as Tawaf. Tawaf is an Islamic ritual, which requires agents to encircle the Kaabah. This ritual has been complex yet unique, due to its capacity, density, and various demographic…

Pedestrian Self-organization Modeling with Behavioral Variables at a Signalized Intersection

The Voronoi algorithm has been used as the most up-to-date method to increase the accuracy in calculating the density and the result shows the normalized root mean square error in density is 0.18, indicating the model's high accuracy.

OpenGL 3D crowd evacuation simulation at universiti tun hussein onn malaysia (UTHM) hostel

This paper investigates the best route path for agents to act in avoiding the fire hazards with different designated type of stairs in shop lots that were converted to hostel dormitory for students to avoid being exposed to fire hazards.

Spatial planning for Effective Evacuation using Floor Field Cellular Automata Model

The use of static floor field model is discussed which is one of the cellular automata approaches to model pedestrian movement during the evacuation process and a set of objects and the generated statistics are used to find a feasible layout that reduce the risk of pedestrian harm.

The social force model approach is introduced in which the social force between pedestrians presented in the crowd is calculated which helps in recognizing the behavior of the crowd in an abnormal situation.

A Review on Recognition of Motion Pattern from Crowd Scene

The background awareness of crowded situations and the elements that are offered are discussed, existing models, popular algorithms with different environment scenarios to find motion pattern from crowded scenes, and several datasets used for the crowd analysis are discussed.

A crowd simulation system which simulates the movement of pilgrims in performing one of Hajj rituals, which is Tawaf, and revealed that it can be used in pilgrim training before performing the actual TAWaf.

Simulation of High Density Pedestrian Flow: Microscopic Model

This model considers the individuals as autonomous particles interacting through social and physical forces, which is one approach that has been used to simulate crowd behaviour and is developed from image data bases.

Tracking Individual Targets in High Density Crowd Scenes Analysis of a Video Recording in Hajj 2009

This work presents a real-time method for pedestrian recognition and tracking in sequences of high resolution images obtained by a stationary (high definition) camera located in different places on the Haram mosque in Mecca to estimate pedestrian velocities as a function of the local density.

An overview on crowd behavior in real-time crowd simulation is given and the work will also cover numerous crowd modeling and rendering techniques.

Video motion perception using optimized Gabor filter

This paper presents a model of visual perception of object motion from a video stream is based on a contributory adaptation of spatiotemporal Gabor filters which are frequency tuned and limited in spatial extent and shows the feasibility of the approach which attains a reasonably fast output rate and for a better resolution.

An overview of the recent main research works with the vision-based SLR system, the existing recognition techniques are discussed, and next, a focus on video-basedSLR system and perform continuous SLR within video sequences.

Index Financial Time Series Based on Zigzag-Perceptually Important Points

This study proposed novel methods of financial time series indexing by considering their zigzag movement and illustrated mostly acceptable performance in tree operations and dimensionality reduction comparing to existing similar technique like Specialize Binary Tree.

To analyze current vision-based systems from a soccer video semantic point of view such as video summarization, features analysis, and provision of augmented information, computer vision methodologies are analyzed along with their strengths and weaknesses.

Recognition of Partially Occluded Objects Based on the Three Different Color Spaces (RGB, YCbCr, HSV)

The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm is robust for identifying occluded objects and it could work at high occlusion.
