Z-scan measurements of the excited state absorption cross sections of a benzothiazolylfluorenylethynyl-substituted terpyridyl platinum(II) complex

Using Z scans employing 4.1-ns and 21-ps pulses, values of 4.0×10<sup>-17</sup> cm<sup>2</sup> and 4.2×10<sup>-17</sup> cm<sup>2</sup> were obtained for the singlet and triplet excited-state absorption cross sections of 4'-[2-(7-benzothiazolyl-9,9-diethylfluoren-2-yl)ethynyl]-2,2':6',2"-terpyridyl platinum(II) chloride at 532 nm.
