Killer toxin from killer strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was isolated from concentrates of extracellular medium by precipitation in poly(ethylene glycol) and chromatography through glyceryl-controlled-pore glass. The toxin migrated as a single protein band on sodium dodecyl sulfate/polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
