Abstract

The opinion pages of national newspapers reflected consumers' attitudes about hospitals and health care in 1990. Some of the following letters tell of the confusion and anger consumers feel when the nation's health care crisis has a personal impact on their families or friends. They also point out the importance of educating the public about the crisis and the pressures it puts on hospitals.
