The Unit of Structure and Space Group of Sodalite. The mineral sodalite, N^Al^Si^O^Cl, belongs to the cubic system, the crystals usually being dodecahedra. Etch figures strongly indicate the point-group symmetry to be Td. A small specimen, about 2 χ 2 χ 0.6 mm, tabular on (HO), was cleaved from a piece of light blue massive sodalite from Bancroft, Ontario. Α Laue photograph was taken with the incident beam nearly normal to the cleavage face, using the radiation from a tube with tungsten…
