We present the Extended Hipparcos Compilation (XHIP), a database of all stars in the New Reduction of the Hipparcos Catalog extensively cross-referenced with data from a broad survey of presently available sources. The resulting collection uniquely assigns 116 096 spectral classifications, 46 392 radial velocities, and 18 549 homogenized iron abundances [Fe/H] to Hipparcos stars. Stellar classifications from SIMBAD, indications of multiplicity from CCDM or WDS, stellar ages from the Geneva…
Search for kinematic siblings of the sun based on data from the XHIP catalog
From the XHIP catalogue, we have selected 1872 F-G-K stars with relative parallax measurement errors <20% and absolute values of their space velocities relative to the Sun <15 km s−1. For all these
A Catalog of Stellar Unified Properties (CATSUP) for 951 FGK-Stars Within 30 pc
Almost every star in our Galaxy is likely to harbor a terrestrial planet, but accurate measurements of an exoplanet's mass and radius demands accurate knowledge of the properties of its host star.
THE AGES OF EARLY-TYPE STARS: STRÖMGREN PHOTOMETRIC METHODS CALIBRATED, VALIDATED, TESTED, AND APPLIED TO HOSTS AND PROSPECTIVE HOSTS OF DIRECTLY IMAGED EXOPLANETS
Age determination is undertaken for nearby early type (BAF) stars, which constitute attractive targets for high-contrast debris disk and planet imaging surveys. Our analysis sequence consists of
A Search for Exoplanets around Northern Circumpolar Stars. IV. Six Planet Candidates to the K Giants, HD 44385, HD 97619, HD 106574, HD 118904, HD 164428, and HD 202432
We report the discovery of long-period radial velocity (RV) variations in six intermediate-mass K-giant stars using precise RV measurements. These discoveries are part of the Search for Exoplanets
The VLT/NaCo large program to probe the occurrence of exoplanets and brown dwarfs in wide orbits - I. Sample definition and characterization
Context. Young, close stars are ideal targets for searching planets using the direct imaging technique. The determination of stellar parameters is crucial for the interpretation of imaging survey
XHIP-II: Clusters and associations
ContextIn the absence of complete kinematic data it has not previously been possible to furnish accurate lists of member stars for all moving groups. There has been an unresolved dispute concerning
Fundamental parameters and infrared excesses of Tycho–Gaia stars
Effective temperatures and luminosities are calculated for 1,475,921 Tycho-2 and 107,145 Hipparcos stars, based on distances from Gaia Data Release 1. Parameters are derived by comparing
Close encounters of the stellar kind
Stars which pass close to the Sun can perturb the Oort cloud, injecting comets into the inner solar system where they may collide with the Earth. Using van Leeuwen's re-reduction of the Hipparcos
Stellar diameters and temperatures - V. 11 newly characterized exoplanet host stars
We use near-infrared interferometric data coupled with trigonometric parallax values and spectral energy distribution fitting to directly determine stellar radii, effective temperatures and
A surprise in the updated list of stellar perturbers of long-period comet motion
Context. The second Gaia data release (Gaia DR2) provided us with the precise five-parameter astrometry for 1.3 billion of sources. As stars passing close to the Solar System are thought to influence

We present a revised catalog of 2106 Galactic stars, selected without kinematic bias and with available radial velocities, distance estimates, and metal abundances in the range -4.0 ≤ [Fe/H] ≤ 0.0.
Pulkovo Compilation of Radial Velocities for 35 495 Hipparcos stars in a common system
The Pulkovo Compilation of Radial Velocities (PCRV) has been made to study the stellar kinematics in the local spiral arm. The PCRV contains weighted mean absolute radial velocities for 35 495

Context. This paper is a follow-up on the vast effort to collect radial velocity data for stars belonging to the Hipparcos survey. Aims. We aim at extending the orbital data available for binaries
