Urine is used traditionally in India for the treatment of burns and wounds. It is believed that applying urine over the wound increases healing. The present study was carried out to evaluate the effect of human urine, urea (2.5%), and urea (5%) on experimentally induced wounds in rats and compare the effects observed with an antiseptic agent, povidine iodine solution.
