After an outline list of the composer's compositions with texts, five of the relatively more recent ones are discussed. Three of these have political content: I Like to Think of Harriet Tubman (text by Susan Griffin), From Leaning Forward (poems by Grace Paley), and poems and song texts by Bertolt Brecht.
