Word and sentence intonation, a quantitative model

  title={Word and sentence intonation, a quantitative model},
  author={S E Ohman},
Dialkylaluminum hydrides are produced by subjecting a mixed aluminum alkyl having the formula R2AlR' to pyrolysis. R is methyl, ethyl, n-alkyl or an alkyl group which has no hydrogen atoms on the carbon atom beta to the aluminum. R' is an alpha - or beta branched alkyl group having the formula in which one R'' is hydrogen and the other is alkyl and R''' is alkyl.

Tone , Accent and Relative Prominence
Yoruba has three phonemically distinctive tones|H(igh), M(id), L(ow). H occurs in word-initial position only in (marked) consonant-initial words, which reveal an implicit initial vowel when precededExpand
Atom decomposition-based intonation modelling
This paper addresses intonation modelling for TTS based on physiological aspects of prosody production with easy extraction of physiologically meaningful atoms that could be used to generateintonation in a TTS system. Expand
Datenbasierte und linguistisch interpretierbare Intonationsmodellierung
It has been shown, that it is possible to build a perceptually acceptable and linguistically interpretable representation of intonation in a purely data-driven manner and guarantee consistency and easy adaptability of the model to new data. Expand
Några observationer rörande akustiskt korrelat till restriktiv bisats
It is a well-known fact that intonation proper can change the meaning of a phrase. In this paper we have examined whether syntax on a more general level is signalled or marked intonationally, or, tExpand
Three Dimensions of Sentence Prosody and Their (Non-)Interactions
Evidence is reported that contrary to many current theories of sentence intonation, the cues to the three dimensions are often orthogonal where interactions are predicted. Expand
Automated modeling of Chinese intonation in continuous speech
A model of intonation in continuous Mandarin speech based on the Stem-ML model of interacting accents is built and trained and it is found that it can accurately reproduce the intonations of the speaker using only one accent template for each lexical tone category. Expand
The effect of focus prominence on phrasing
A production experiment is reported on that crosses these three dimensions to look for interactions, concentrating on interactions between focus prominence and phrasing, and provides evidence that interactions are more limited than many current theories of sentence prosody would predict. Expand
Scandinavian accent typology
Abstract Most of the Scandinavian languages and dialects exhibit a tonal accent distinction. Invariably the lexical tone is associated to the primary stressed syllable. The chief variables whichExpand
Hierarchical Structure and Word Strength Prediction of Mandarin Prosody
An automatic learning system for Mandarin prosody is built that allows for quantitative measurements of prosodic strengths, and reveals strong alternating metrical patterns in words, and suggests that the speaker uses word strength to mark a hierarchy of sentence, clause, phrase, and word boundaries. It is argued that this property stems both from the accidental fact that Mandarin has a small number of syllable types, and from traditional Sinological views of the linguistic structure of Chinese, where there are problems with using the syllable as the basic synthesis unit. Expand
