The signaling molecule Wnt regulates bone homeostasis through β-catenin–dependent canonical and β-catenin–independent noncanonical pathways. Impairment of canonical Wnt signaling causes bone loss in arthritis and osteoporosis; however, it is unclear how noncanonical Wnt signaling regulates bone resorption.
