Wilson coefficients of light four-quark condensates in QCD sum rules are evaluated for pseudo-scalar $D$ mesons, thus, pushing the sum rules toward mass dimension six. Contrary to the situation for $\bar{q}q$ mesons the impact of the four-quark condensates for vacuum as well as in-medium situations is found to be rather small within the Borel window used in previous analyses. The complete four-quark condensate contributions enable to identify candidates for an order parameter of spontaneous… Expand

Analysis of heavy mesons in nuclear matter with a QCD sum rule approach
In this article, I calculate the contributions of the nuclear matter induced condensates up to dimension 5, take into account the next-to-leading order contributions of the nuclear matter inducedExpand
Recent progress in QCD condensate evaluations and sum rules
We review the recent status of the QCD sum rule approach to study the properties of hadrons in vacuum and in hot or dense matter. Special focus is laid on the progress made in the evaluation of theExpand
Chiral-partner D mesons in a heat bath within QCD sum rules
Utilizing QCD sum rules, we extract the temperature dependences of the spectral properties of the pseudo-scalar and scalar D mesons regarded as chiral partners. Besides the masses also decayExpand
QCD sum rule for open strange meson K1± in nuclear matter
Abstract The properties of open strange meson K 1 ± in nuclear matter are estimated in the QCD sum rule approach. We obtain a relation between the in-medium mass and width of K 1 − ( K 1 + ) inExpand
Chiral symmetry aspects in the open charm sector
QCD sum rules serve as tools to investigate changing hadronic properties in a hot and/or dense nuclear medium. The role of chiral symmetry breaking and restoration effects in a medium can beExpand
Genuine quark state versus dynamically generated structure for the Roper resonance
In view of the recent results of lattice QCD simulation in the P11 partial wave that has found no clear signal for the three-quark Roper state we investigate a different mechanism for the formationExpand
Quasi-exotic open-flavor mesons
Abstract.Meson states with exotic quantum numbers arise naturally in a covariant bound-state framework in QCD. We investigate the consequences of shifting quark masses such that the states are noExpand
D mesons as a probe of Casimir effect for chiral symmetry breaking
We propose $D$ mesons as probes to investigate finite-volume effects for chiral symmetry breaking at zero and finite temperatures. By using the $2+1$-flavor linear sigma model with constituent lightExpand
Charming quasi-exotic open-flavor mesons
We discuss charmed mesons in the covariant Dyson-Schwinger-Bethe-Salpeter-equation approach. In particular we computed masses, leptonic decay constants, and an orbital-angular-momentum decompositionExpand
Aspects of open-flavour mesons in a comprehensive DSBSE study
Abstract.Open-flavour meson studies are the necessary completion to any comprehensive investigation of quarkonia. We extend recent studies of quarkonia in the Dyson-Schwinger-Bethe-Salpeter equationExpand

The QCD vacuum
Abstract We review issues involved in understanding the vacuum, long-distance and low-energy structure of non-abelian gauge theories and QCD. The emphasis will be on the role played by instantons.
