Will there be an epidemic of HIV-related chronic kidney disease in sub-Saharan Africa? Too soon to tell.

Abstract

Most of what we know about HIV-related kidney disease comes from developed settings. However, the greatest population at risk resides in resource-limited areas where monitoring and treatment for kidney dysfunction are outside the scope of medical practice. More epidemiologic and prevention research is sorely needed.
