In this paper principle of stacking is implemented on a L-shape slot loaded broadband patch antenna for enhancing the gain without affecting the broadband impedance matching characteristics and offsetting the position of the upper patch excites a lower resonance which enhances the bandwidth further. The bandwidth, gain, size reduction and efficiency obtained in the designed antenna makes it a potential radiator for Ku band application
