Local functions of the brain can be complemented by other parts by training, even if they were lost by an accident such as external injury and internal bleeding. This is the dynamical redistribution of functions inside the brain. It can be regarded as a result of the Operating System (OS) function of the brain, on the analogy of computers. On the other hand, the passive consciousness hypothesis is known to be a powerful cognitive model in the sense that it figures out the difficult problems… Expand

Physical Consciousness Outside the Brain: Parasite Fermion Model for Substance of Consciousness
Conventionally, consciousness is thought to be a result of the brain’s neuronal activity, and much research activity is focused along this line of thought; however, circumstantial evidence has notExpand
Space, Time and Consciousness
This paper describes a new theory of consciousness based on previous work by C.D. Broad, H.H. Price, Andrei Linde and others. This hypothesis states that the Universe consists of three fundamentalExpand
Reply to seven commentaries on “Consciousness in the universe: Review of the ‘Orch OR’ theory”
Stuart Hameroff and Roger Penrose (‘H&P’) Orch OR doesn’t divorce life from consciousness, but marries them within non-polar ‘quantum channels’ inside microtubule cylindrical walls. Although life isExpand
Stabilization of submillimeter dimensions: The New guise of the hierarchy problem
A new framework for solving the hierarchy problem was recently proposed which does not rely on low energy supersymmetry or technicolor. The fundamental Planck mass is at TeV and the observed weaknessExpand
Scalar kinks and fermion localization in warped spacetimes
Scalar kinks propagating along the bulk in warped spacetimes provide a thick brane realization of the braneworld. We consider here, a class of such exact solutions of the full Einstein-scalar systemExpand
The Hierarchy problem and new dimensions at a millimeter
Abstract We propose a new framework for solving the hierarchy problem which does not rely on either supersymmetry or technicolor. In this framework, the gravitational and gauge interactions becomeExpand
The Ekpyrotic universe: Colliding branes and the origin of the hot big bang
We propose a cosmological scenario in which the hot big bang universe is produced by the collision of a brane in the bulk space with a bounding orbifold plane, beginning from an otherwise cold,Expand
ON MODELS OF GAUGE FIELD LOCALIZATION ON A BRANE
We argue that any viable mechanism of gauge field localization should automatically imply charge universality on the brane. We study whether this condition is satisfied in the two known proposalsExpand
Randall-Sundrum scenario with an extra warped dimension
We investigate a scenario with two four-branes embedded in six dimensions. When the metric is periodic and compact in one of the dimensions parallel to the branes, the value of the effectiveExpand
Fermion field in the vicinity of a brane
A mechanism that enables fermions to live outside of but be localized near a brane is proposed based on the field-theoretical framework. Two types of fermion fields are considered: one is localizedExpand
