In a competitive healthcare environment with inflationary pressure on healthcare costs twice that of the national consumer price index, creative cost containment solutions are essential. Likewise, an aging nursing workforce with the average age of a registered nurse (RN) being 46.8 years and with 51% of the workforce older than 50 years mandates strategies to replace experienced professionals leaving the workforce.
