Abstract

This critical review examines the language abilities of preschool siblings of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Studies evaluated include between and mixed between and within group nonrandomized clinical trails. Overall, the research findings suggest that preschool siblings of children with ASD have lower receptive language abilities and comparable expressive language abilities compared to children with no family history of ASD. Recommendations and clinical implications are also discussed.
