The web has a short history, but has grown at an exponential pace since its introduction six years ago. Web-based simulation represents the connection between the web and the field of simulation. Web based simulation is not an existing field but rather an idea which represents an interest on the part of simulationists to exploit web technology. To further this cause, I present some issues and concepts in web based simulation to serve as a back drop for a more formal discussion, and potentially…

The ongoing research to design and implement support for DCS in a Web-based Environment for Systems Engineering (WESE) is presented, which provides an effective technique for selectively changing the level of abstraction of a model during simulation.

Implementation of the virtual teamworking concept into the simulation project life-cycle

This research investigates the implication of employing the virtual team concept to the simulation team, collaboration process and quality of project output, and introduces the framework for creating the virtual simulation team and two step methodology with short, medium and long recommendations proposed.

This work uses a set of standard CORBA-IDL based programming interfaces, a publisher-subscriber model for communication, and dynamic composition of all simulation entities (simulated network hosts and links) to enable large-scale deployment of network simulation frameworks.

Investigating ontologies for simulation modeling

This paper investigates the use, the benefits and the development requirements of Web-accessible ontologies for discrete-event simulation and modeling, and develops a prototype OWL-based ontology for modeling and simulation called the discrete- event modeling ontology (DeMO).

A Cloud-Based Visual Simulation Environment for Traffic Networks

The CANVAS design and asynchronous visualization protocol show that advanced visualization capabilities can be provided to the client without depending on the client hardware, and can be used for the development of other cloud-based visual simulation IDEs.

Web-Based Tools for System Dynamics Simulation

The aim of this paper is the review of SD Web-based tools in the context of some technology aspects of Web- based simulation and its advantages and disadvantages.

A Novel Control Method for Drum Level and Pressure Basing on Dynamic Surface

A novel drum level and pressure simultaneously control method is developed using the dynamic surface control method in this paper which takes account of the output power of units and load change

A Proposed Framework for Simulation Based Learning of Inheritance

A framework is proposed to measure the impact of serious games on enhancing students understanding of key computer science concepts and the possibility of successful implementation of simulation in computer programming modules.

Stabilization of Boiler Steam Temperature using DSC Approach

A novel steam temperature control method is developed using the dynamic surface control method in this paper which is based on the saturated water-steam temperature system states observer and the

A web-based, collaborative modeling, simulation, and parallel computing environment for electromechanical systems

The results of simulation and parametric experiment demonstrate that the tested web-based environment can effectively shorten the design cycle of the complex electromechanical system.
