The purpose of this paper is to examine the applications of using Web 2.0 technologies and social media tools to “bring” the academic library to its students and implications for the Amelia V. Gallucci-Cirio Library, Fitchburg State University. A review of the literature finds varying levels of Web 2.0 implementations as well as various uses for the different tools in academic libraries.
