The main assumption of the so-called "-regularity theory of suitable weak solutions to the Navier-Stokes equations is uniform smallness of certain scaleinvariant quantities, which rules out singularities. One of the best results of "-regularity is the famous Caffarelli-Kohn-Nirenberg theorem.
