Reservoirs play a strategic role in the context of sustainable energy supply. Unfortunately, the majority of the reservoirs are facing water-quality degradation due to complex pollutants originating from activities both in the catchment and inside the reservoir. This research was aimed at assessing the extent of the water degradation, in terms of corrosivity level, and at examining its impacts on hydropower capacity and operation. Water quality data (total dissolved solids, pH, calcium…

Managing aquaculture in multi-use freshwater bodies: the case of Jatiluhur reservoir
The pressure on scarce freshwater resources from intensifying human activity is rising across the globe. This study presents the case of Jatiluhur—Indonesia’s largest reservoir, where unregulated
Estimation of rainwater harvesting by the reflectance of the purity index of rainfall
TLDR
Findings indicate that rainwater in Peninsular Malaysia was suitable for non-potable purposes and the purity of rainfall index (PRI) was developed based on subjective factor scores of the six factors within three categories: good, moderate, and bad.
Construction and Application of a Water Quality Risk Sensitive Area Identification System in the Wudongde Reservoir
Numerous water quality risks exist during the initial water storage stage in reservoirs; however, little water quality data is available for this stage. Taking the Wudongde Reservoir as an example,
Assessing the Influence of Land-Use Changes on Water Quality Using Remote Sensing and GIS: A Study in Cirata Reservoir, Indonesia
Environmental Changes in a round of reservoir have dramatic influences on the sedimentation and deterioration of water quality. A significant land-use change in Cibalagung sub-watershed has impact on
Aqueous Systems of Dissolved Oxygen in Reservoir
Oxygen plays a crucial role in aquatic ecosystem particularly for supporting aquaculture and hydropower. In freshwater, importance of oxygen is for metabolic respiration and balance for heterotrophic
