The death of Walter White March 21, 1955, removed the most militant leader of colored people in the United States during his times. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia, July 1, 1893, and his parents were George W. and Madeline (Harrison) White. He attended the Atlanta public schools, finished the Atlanta University high school in 1912, and graduated from the college there in the class of 1916.
