Two new decaline metabolites, wakodecalines A and B, were isolated from a fungus, Pyrenochaetopsis sp. RK10-F058, by screening for structurally unique metabolites using LC/MS analysis. Their structures were determined on the basis of NMR and mass spectrometric measurements. The absolute structures were confirmed by a combination of chemical methods including chemical degradation, a modified Mosher’s method and Marfey’s method, and comparison of the experimental electronic CD (ECD) spectrum with…

Application of Feature-Based Molecular Networking for Comparative Metabolomics and Targeted Isolation of Stereoisomers from Algicolous Fungi
TLDR
A comparative metabolomics study employing HRMS/MS based feature-based molecular networking (FB MN) on both Pyrenochaetopsis strains points out significant variations in the chemical repertoire of two closely related fungal strains and the versatility of FB MN in identification and targeted isolation of stereoisomers.
