Woodfordia fruticosa is a high demand medicinal plant for pharmaceutics and dye industries. The plant is distributed in North-eastern India. This review highlights the spectacular properties of this plant. Flowers of W. fruticosa have been used traditionally in the treatment of dysentery, diarrhea, other bowel complaints, internal haemorrhages, leucorrhoea and menorrhagia.
