Willlngness to communicate (WTC) has been defined as the intention to init iate communication, g ven a cho ce. lt was hypotheslzed that orientations toward language earning as wel as socal support wou d inf uence students' WTC in a second language. Grade I students of L2 French irnrners on, iving in a relativeiy unil ingual Anglophone community, part cipated in the study.
