New coloured scalars in the Manohar-Wise model give sizeable contributions to the Electric Dipole Moment (EDM) of the neutron through one-loop and two-loop diagrams, computed in Reference [1]. Contributions from neutral scalars cancel out for degenerate values of the masses, whose difference is related to the oblique parameters S and T . The Manohar-Wise model is able to explain the recent value of the W -boson mass published by the CDF collaboration. We show, however, that the case of total…

Global fit on coloured scalars including the last W-boson mass measurement

We consider a simple extension of the electroweak theory, incorporating one SU (2) L doublet of colour-octet scalars with Yukawa couplings satisfying the principle of minimal flavour violation. Using

Electroweak dark matter model accounting for the CDF W -mass anomaly

Recently, the CDF collaboration reported a new measurement of the W boson mass M W = 80 . 4335 ± 0 . 0094 GeV, which shows a ∼ 7 σ deviation from the standard model prediction 80 . 3545 ± 0 . 0057

Electric dipole moments from colour-octet scalars

Abstract We present the contributions to electric dipole moments (EDMs) induced by the Yukawa couplings of an additional electroweak doublet of colour-octet scalars. The full set of one-loop

Global fit on coloured scalars including the last W-boson mass measurement

We consider a simple extension of the electroweak theory, incorporating one SU (2) L doublet of colour-octet scalars with Yukawa couplings satisfying the principle of minimal flavour violation. Using

Unitarity and vacuum stability constraints on the couplings of color octet scalars

A bstractThe recent discovery of a 126 GeV boson at the LHC will be followed by a detailed examination of its couplings in order to determine whether this particle is the Higgs boson of the standard

Novel theoretical constraints for color-octet scalar models

We study the theoretical constraints on a model whose scalar sector contains one color octet and one or two color singlet SU(2)L doublets. To ensure unitarity of the theory, we constrain the

Changing patterns in electroweak precision fits with new color-charged states: Oblique corrections and the W -boson mass

The recent measurement by the CDF Collaboration of the 𝑊 boson mass is in significant tension with the Standard Model expectation, showing a discrepancy of seven standard deviations. A larger value

Improved bounds on heavy quark electric dipole moments

New bounds on the electric dipole moment (EDM) of charm and bottom quarks are derived using the stringent limits on their chromo-EDMs. The new limits, $|d_c|<1.5\times10^{-21}\:e\,\text{cm}$ and

The SM extension with color-octet scalars: diphoton enhancement and global fit of LHC Higgs data

A bstractIn light of the significant progress of the LHC to determine the properties of the Higgs boson, we investigate the capability of the Manohar-Wise model in explaining the Higgs data. This

Correlating W-Boson Mass Shift with Muon g-2 in the Two Higgs Doublet Model.

We show an interesting correlation between the recent high precision measurement of the W-boson mass by the CDF Collaboration and the muon (g-2) anomaly in the context of the two Higgs doublet model.
