Vitamin B6 deficiency and carcinogenesis.

Abstract

The literature on the occurrence of carcinogenesis as related to vitamin B6 deficiency is reviewed, and several critical areas, such as altered tryptophan metabolism, impaired immune status, and the metabolism of polyamines are discussed in depth. Preliminary results of vitamin B6-related chemotherapy of malignant melanomas are also presented.
